Mandla Lok Sabha elections: Parties reached polling stations with material, received cordial welcome

Mandla, 18 April (HS). Voting will be held in the Mandla Lok Sabha constituency of Madhya Pradesh on Friday, April 19 from 7 am to 6 pm in the polling stations. For this, the polling parties left for their polling centers in designated vehicles from the Government Polytechnic College on Thursday morning with election material and by evening all the parties reached the designated polling centres. The polling parties were given a cordial welcome upon reaching the polling stations.

Polling workers were welcomed with flower garlands. At many places, people were welcomed with traditional dance and drums. Due to this the faces of the polling workers lit up. Better arrangements have been made in the centers for accommodation of polling parties. Arrangements for drinking water, food, bucket, mug, toothpaste, soap, hanky, handwash, oil, comb, torch etc. have been made for the polling parties.

Before this, election material was distributed to the polling parties from the Government Polytechnic College, District Headquarters, Mandla and they were sent to the polling stations in vehicles. Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Saloni Sidana, Superintendent of Police Rajat Saklecha, Additional Collector and Upazila Election Officer Rajendra Kumar Singh and other officials provided necessary guidance regarding the arrangements while being present at the material distribution site.

First of all, the original orders were distributed in the Government Polytechnic campus for which 16-16 counters were made per assembly. After this, EVMs and other materials were distributed for which a total of 47 counters were made. Before this, action was taken to open the strong room in the presence of the concerned Returning Officer and the candidates or their representatives.

Help from indicators

Adequate quantities of clear signage were installed at the material distribution site for the convenience of the members of the polling parties. All information related to material distribution was recorded in these indicators. Along with this, necessary information including the map of the premises and the distances of assembly wise polling stations were also displayed which became helpful for the members of the polling party. Green color was used in the indicators of Bichhiya Assembly, red color was used in Niwas and blue color was used in the indicators of Mandla. Besides, assistance was also provided to the polling workers through helpdesk.

Arrangements made for polling personnel

All necessary arrangements were ensured for all the members of the polling parties at the material distribution site. Arrangements for accommodation and food in hostels were made for the polling workers who had reached Mandla a day earlier. On April 18, proper arrangements for water, tea, snacks and food were made for the polling parties at the Polytechnic College. Also, health facilities were made available in the form of a temporary hospital. Apart from this, proper arrangements have also been made in the polling stations.
