Jabalpur: Polling parties reached the centers with voting material

Jabalpur, 18 April (HS). In view of the voting to be held in Jabalpur parliamentary constituency on Friday, April 19, voting material was distributed to the polling parties appointed from Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University campus on Thursday morning amidst tight security and tight arrangements. The arrangements were so good that as per the scheduled schedule, the departure of polling parties started from around 10 am in the morning. The polling parties started arriving at the nearby polling stations around 12 noon and by evening all the polling parties had reached their polling stations. At many polling stations, polling parties were welcomed by garlanding them and applying tilak.

The employees deployed for distribution of material to the polling parties had reached Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University before 4.30 in the morning. Strongrooms were opened at 4.30 am in the presence of political parties and District Election Officer and Collector Deepak Saxena, Superintendent of Police Aditya Pratap Singh to distribute EVMs and VHPET machines to the polling parties along with voting material. Assistant Returning Officers of the respective assembly constituencies were also present during the opening of the assembly-wise strongroom for keeping the EVMs and VHPET machines safe by the security forces.

As per the instructions of Collector and District Election Officer Deepak Saxena, two places were earmarked in the Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University campus for distribution of material to the polling parties. The polling parties of Patan, Bargi, Jabalpur East, Jabalpur North and Sihora Assembly constituencies will be sent from the Indian Coffee House located in the Agricultural University campus and the polling parties of Jabalpur Kent, Jabalpur West and Panagar Assembly will be sent to the grounds behind the building of the College of Agricultural Engineering of the Agricultural University. Collector Deepak Saxena himself was constantly keeping an eye on the material distribution system. He visited all the distribution centers and took stock of the material distribution system. Superintendent of Police Aditya Pratap Singh and Additional Collector Misha Singh were also with him during this period. Saxena also met the polling personnel during the distribution of material, encouraged them and wished them good luck for successful voting. Praising the material distribution system, the polling personnel told the Collector that this has inspired them and boosted their morale.

Big pandals were set up assembly wise to distribute material to the polling parties in the Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University campus. To distribute voting material to the polling parties, one table was set up for each polling station, so that the polling personnel could sit comfortably and receive the voting material and tally it leisurely. For distribution of voting material, as many tables were set up in each assembly constituency as there are polling stations in that area. Big coolers were also installed in the pandals made for distribution of goods.

Color coding of each distribution center was done. Indicators of the same color as the identity cards given to the polling personnel deployed for voting in that assembly constituency were installed at the material distribution centers set up assembly wise. A large flex of the voting material distribution plan was placed at the entry point of each distribution centre. Two or three large flexes displaying the details of the polling station allotted to the polling parties, party number, polling station name and polling station number were also installed at the distribution centres. Apart from these, a helpdesk was also set up to assist the polling personnel.

Medical teams were also deployed at the material distribution site with all the necessary medicines. The parking arrangements for the employees appointed in the polling parties and the vehicles used to transport the polling parties to the polling stations were also planned in a better way, so that there is no traffic jam and no one faces any problem in movement. 524 routes have been determined to take the polling parties to the polling stations and the same number of small and big buses have also been arranged.
