Chitrakoot police recovered five kilos of silver utensils

Chitrakoot, 18 April (HIST). On April 6, about 14 kg of silver utensils were stolen from a bullion trader from Banaras from Karvi bus stand, which was recovered by the Chitrakoot police.

On Thursday, Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh met journalists at Raghav Auditorium. He told that under the supervision of ASP Chakrapani Tripathi and CO City Rajkamal, a joint team of SOG, Surveillance and Kotwali Karvi Police arrested the smuggler Amarnath Nishad, son of late. Ramraj, resident of Gohnarpur police station, Alapur district, Ambedkar Nagar, has been arrested along with five kilos of silver utensils. He has a good criminal history in Ambedkar Nagar. Police recovered 20 silver thalis, 25 plates, one jug, three glasses, 100 betel nuts, three coconuts and 11 vermillion boxes and silver articles weighing five kilos from its possession.

He told that on the information of informer, the topper was arrested from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Junior School, Pahari. It is known that on April 6, a bag full of silver items belonging to gold and silver trader Bhagwan Singh, son of late Ganesh Singh, resident of 46/146 Hartirath Kotwali, Kashi Commissionerate, Varanasi, was stolen from a roadways bus. A case was registered in Kotwali Karvi regarding the incident.

The police team included SOG in-charge MP Tripathi, Karvi Kotwal Upendra Pratap Singh, Inspector Crime Rakesh Kumar Singh, Diwan Jitendra Kushwaha, Diwan Nitesh Samadhiya, Constable Rohit Singh, Ashish Yadav, Roshan Singh, Golu Bhargava, Raghavendra Singh, Pawan Rajput, Gyanesh Mishra, Inspector Anil Kumar Gupta and constable Rahul Dev were included.

The accused caught during interrogation told that he along with three associates were chasing the silver businessman sitting in the bus from Zero Road bus stand Prayagraj. Karvi had stolen the businessman's bag as soon as he got a chance at the bus stand. With the help of his friends, he fled away in a motorbike. All four had divided the stolen goods among themselves. Efforts are on to arrest the remaining accused.
