Kannauj: SP struggling with infighting, husband of former District Panchayat President leaves the party and joins BJP

Kannauj, 18 April (HS). Samajwadi Party leader and husband of former District Panchayat President resigned from the party membership along with his supporters and today he joined BJP. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak formally inducted him into the party in Lucknow today. Even before this, some SP leaders from Kannauj district have joined BJP.

The nomination process for Lok Sabha elections started in Kannauj from today. A day before this, powerful SP leader and former assembly constituency president Sanju Katiyar resigned from the party. Along with him, 144 active members of the party also resigned.

Sanju Katiyar surprised everyone by resigning from Samajwadi Party. In fact, he remained active in SP continuously for almost 20 years. His wife Shilpi Katiyar has been the District Panchayat President of Kannauj. But for some time now the Samajwadi Party has been struggling with infighting. Due to which many leaders and workers are facing neglect. Fed up with this, Sanju Katiyar and his supporters resigned from SP. He has also previously been the Student Union President of PSM Degree College.

Before Sanju Katiyar, Samajwadi Party leader and former Talgram Chairman Dinesh Yadav has also left SP and joined BJP. SP leader Dharmendra Yadav, resident of Sikandarpur, also joined BJP. In such a situation, now Sanju Katiyar also left SP. He has sent his resignation to party district president Kalim Khan and national president Akhilesh Yadav.
