DM and SSP gave instructions to police personnel deployed on election duty

Haridwar, 17 April (HS). District Election Officer and District Magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garbyal and SSP Pramendra Singh Dobal issued necessary instructions while briefing the police force deployed for the Lok Sabha elections. The District Election Officer and SSP gave detailed information about the travel routes of the polling parties and the precautions to be taken at the polling station.

Both the officials said that during the voting, the flying squad will conduct surprise inspection of the polling stations. Any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in elections. Police officers will be on constant rounds and will keep an eye on every suspicious activity. Keep a close eye on your duty place and surroundings. Maintaining peace and order will be the priority. Information about chaotic activities at polling booths should be immediately given to higher officials.

He informed that 861 polling centers and 1714 polling places have been created in the district. 247 sensitive polling booths have been identified. The district has been divided into 4 superzones, 33 zones and 161 sectors for the purpose of elections. Adequate police force has been deployed at each booth. During the voting, 15 gazetted officers, 31 inspectors, 172 sub-inspectors, 122 additional sub-inspectors, 352 head constables, 1040 constables, 2450 home guards and PRD jawans, 2 companies and 2 platoons of PAC and 13 companies of central paramilitary forces will be deployed in the district.
