The world famous Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib has been covered with heavy snowfall ahead of the pilgrimage. The first picture of Gurudwara Hemkunt Sahib has surfaced after snowfall. After reaching Sri Hemkunt Sahib, the army personnel took stock of the snowfall situation and also inspected the road. Gurudwara Sahib is covered with about 12 to 15 feet of snow. The first floor of the Gurudwara is completely covered with snow and the reservoir is also covered with snow.
The annual pilgrimage to Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib will begin from May 25. Therefore, preparations are going on war footing. Snow removal work is also commonly done by the Indian Army. The work of removing snow from the road leading to Sri Hemkunt Sahib will start from April 20. Indian Army soldiers will reach Gurudwara Gobind Ghat on April 20 to cut snow to prepare the way for the Sangat, who will prepare the entire route by May 20.
Let us tell you that Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust, in collaboration with the Uttarakhand Government, has decided to start this annual yatra this time on 25th May. Trust head Narinderjit Singh Bindra said that the doors of Gurdwara Sahib will be opened on May 25 and will be closed on October 10. For which consent has been given by the state government.
