Marriage is such a happy occasion for a person which connects him with new relationships. In today's time, marriages have become mere extravagance and show-off. Weddings involve pre-wedding, post-wedding, use of drones, photo-shoots, stage performances of dancers, live telecast of the event and many other activities which add up to the expenses of weddings.
In earlier times, the basic needs of an ordinary family for marriage were fulfilled by the neighborhood itself, but due to the expansion and urbanization of Rs, a section of the ordinary class got transformed into lower middle class, known as Rs. .-Money got wings. Weddings or other social functions that were earlier held in taverns and religious places have now been replaced by commercial venues such as palaces.
People spend a lot of money and show off in these weddings and social events. Today, subjects like cooperation, collaboration and division of work, which are taught in MBA degree in big universities, are undoubtedly the contribution of the villages of Punjab, where people used to do great social work with mutual cooperation without spending much. Almost half of the food stock in the form of stalls inside the marriage palaces is thrown into the garbage which is a very shameful and condemnable incident. What needs to be understood is that in the olden days, people were simple and the food served was nutritious and affordable.
In other words, even by spending a little money the entire village can be fed. But in today's times, the food served in palace programs is expensive and also harmful for health. The sad thing is that even the guests coming to the programs fill the plate with chaff, eat half of it and throw the other half in the dustbin and move towards the next stall.
The food wasted in these lavish weddings and other events can fill the stomachs of poor people who are forced to sleep hungry. The tragedy is that the common man also becomes a victim of this trap due to financial crunch and debt and remains burdened with debt throughout his life.
