At the end of life, a person often starts remembering the good and bad deeds done by him. Lord Shri Krishna has said in Geeta that whatever a person thinks at the last moment, he gets the same in the next life. Man should improve his afterlife through wisdom. This opportunity is available only to mankind because other creatures do not have conscience.
It is described in Ramcharitmanas that at the last moment Dasharatha remembered the scene in which he had unknowingly killed Saravan Kumar, as a result of which Saravan Kumar's father cursed him that in the way his son is going to die in separation. She will also be separated from her son. Bhishma's father also lay on a bed of arrows for six months before his death, but according to philosophers, Bhishma was on a bed of arrows of memories, due to which he was suffering more pain than the arrows.
Bhishma was the oldest in the Kuru dynasty. In such a situation, he hoped that he would raise his voice against the immoral activities taking place in the family, but his daughter-in-law's face kept appearing in front of him and he kept watching silently. Due to which the feeling of guilt settled in his mind and due to this he was feeling pain like an arrow in his last moments.
In today's era, many people deliberately indulge in immoral activities due to which they often remain restless and angry. When the last time of such a person comes, his mind makes him like an animal, as a result of which he gets the life of an animal in the next life.
On the contrary, a person who does good deeds starts seeing the image of God as a result of his deeds. The result is that he attains ultimate peace by being absorbed in God. This should be the real aim of our life.
