Noted Indian actor, filmmaker and entrepreneur Ram Charan was awarded an honorary doctorate at the fourteenth annual convocation of VISTA held at Pallavaram, Chennai. The event was held at the Velan Arena at the Vistas campus in Pallavaram. Celebrities from various fields participated in the ceremony which started at 4 pm. Professor TG Sitaram, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was the chief guest of the programme.
He delivered a motivational speech to the graduating students emphasizing the importance of continuous learning, embracing technological developments and skill development. He also highlighted the importance of contribution to society. A total of 4555 graduates including Bachelors, Masters and PhD attended the convocation ceremony. Students received 80 gold medals and 100 PhD degrees at the convocation ceremony.
Honorary Doctorate degrees are awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions by experts in their respective fields. They are ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 Project Director Dr. P. Veeramuthuvel, Shri Ram Charan Konidela, film actor, Dr. GSK Velu, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Trivitron Healthcare and Padma Shri. Sharad Kamal Achanta, Indian professional table tennis player, Chennai. After the graduation ceremony, Dr. Isari K. Vistas founder-chairman Ganesh and actor Ramcharan Konidela met the media. Ram Charan has Expressed gratitude for the honor he received.
Ramcharan Konidela beautifully said that the reason for this recognition is the people who have worked with him and the fans. He thanked director Shankar for giving him the opportunity to work on 'Game Changer', which is scheduled to release in five languages in September or October. He also said that his family, especially his mother, has expressed surprise and happiness for this doctorate.
