Amir Sarfaraz shot dead in Lahore: Underworld don Aamir Sarfaraz alias Tamba, who murdered Indian citizen Sarabjit Singh in the jail of Lahore, Pakistan, has been murdered on Sunday. Sarfaraz was shot dead by unknown assailants.

In the year 2013, Sarfaraz had murdered Sarabjit Singh, an Indian citizen imprisoned in Pakistan's Kot Lakhpat jail, on the instructions of the intelligence agency ISI. Sarabjit Singh was prosecuted against Sarfaraz and several others in Pakistan, but it was dropped in 2018 due to lack of evidence.

Sarabjit Singh, a farmer from Bhikhiwind village in Tarn Taran district of Punjab, accidentally went to Pakistan on August 30, 1990. There the Pakistani army arrested him and put him in jail. Pakistan had made false allegations against Sarabjit. Apart from Sarabjit's sister Dalbir and wife Sukhpreet, the Indian government also tried to bring Sarabjit back to India, but this effort was not successful. Meanwhile, Sarabjit was attacked in a jail in Lahore, Pakistan, in which he died. Sarabjit, who was serving his sentence, was attacked with eggs on his head. After this he was admitted to a hospital in Lahore, where he could not be saved.
