No need to worry if money has been transferred to wrong UPI, follow these steps to withdraw it

Sometimes a simple mistake while making an online payment can cause money to get credited to another person's account. If this happens to you then there is no need to panic.

Many people mistakenly send money to the wrong bank account through their mobile number linked to UPI. If this has happened to you too then do not panic. Should we tell you what to do?

Contact the person who received the funds and request a refund. Give them the necessary details and ask for their cooperation in returning the money.

Contact Customer Support
Report erroneous transactions to customer support of your UPI app. Provide them with all relevant information and evidence of the transaction. They can help you start the refund process.

Complain to NPCI
If you are unable to resolve the issue with the app's customer helpline, you can file a complaint with the National Payments Corporation of India. Give them the details and evidence of the transaction and they will investigate the matter further.

Get help from your bank
Contact your bank and inform them about the erroneous transaction. Provide them with all the required details and documents. They can help initiate the chargeback process to recover the transferred funds.

Contact Banking Ombudsman
If you are not satisfied with the response you receive from the customer support of your bank or the UPI app, you can escalate the issue to the Banking Ombudsman. They can mediate between you and the parties concerned to resolve the dispute.
