Azamgarh 19 February, (His). Manoj Kumar Srivastava, a clerk posted in the AD Basic office of Azamgarh district, has been arrested red handed while taking bribe by the Anti Corruption Azamgarh team. The anti-corruption team took action based on the complaint and arrested the clerk. Sukhveer Singh Bhadauria, in-charge of Anti Corruption Team Azamgarh, said that apart from the clerk, an FIR will also be lodged against AD Basic Manoj Kumar Mishra.
According to the information, Rajeev Kumar Singh, a resident of Ballia district, had complained about bribery to the anti-corruption team of Azamgarh district in the education department office. Complainant Rajeev had written a letter alleging that when he reached the Azamgarh AD Basic office with the application for recognition of his school for classes 6 to 8, he was asked for a bribe. It is alleged that Manoj Kumar Srivastava, a clerk posted in AD Basic office, demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand in the name of getting recognition.
The clerk said that this amount goes to the officer, so the money will not be reduced. After much pleading and running to the office 4 times, the clerk agreed to reduce the bribe amount by Rs 10,000. When this whole matter reached the anti-corruption team of Azamgarh, they raided the AD Basic office with full preparation on Monday. When the fixed amount was given to the clerk, due to the chemical already applied on the note, the clerk's hand turned red and the team immediately arrested him. The arrested clerk Manoj Kumar Srivastava is a resident of Jafarpur, Azamgarh.
Sukhveer Singh Bhadauria, in-charge of Anti Corruption Team Azamgarh, said that accused Manoj Kumar Srivastava has been arrested with bribe notes in front of two public servants. Legal action is being taken against the accused in the case. The accused has told that the bribe money is also given to AD Basic, on this basis a case is also being registered against AD Basic Manoj Kumar Mishra.
