Forbesganj/Araria, 13 April (HIST). The festival of Vaishakhi was celebrated with great pomp in the Gurudwara located in ward number 08 of Forbesganj city. Vaishakh is the first day of the solar month. People of Sikh religion celebrate this festival as New Year. It is considered a festival of happiness and prosperity. Hundreds of Sikh families participated on this occasion. Gurudwara Committee head Giani Ji delivered sermons, bhajans and kirtans and langar was organised. There was a steady flow of devotees on this occasion.
Knowingly, it is said that this day of Vaisakhi is also celebrated as Khalsa Sadhana Day, knowingly it is said that people of five different castes, Daya Singh, Dharam Singh, Himmat Singh, Hukum Singh took Sikhism from Guru Gobind Singh.
