Meeting regarding security arrangements on Ram Navami in Jharkhand

Ranchi, 13 April (HS). Home Department Principal Secretary Vandana Dadel and DGP Ajay Kumar Singh jointly held a review meeting of law and order on Ram Navami festival at Project Bhawan on Saturday. During this, the Principal Secretary and DGP gave many directions to the officers. During the meeting, the DGP directed all the districts to maintain peace on the occasion of Ram Navami. Along with this, instructions were given to keep an eye on anti-social elements and miscreants and take preventive action against them, physical verification of procession routes and monitoring of religious places.

In the meeting, instructions were given to take special precautions in sensitive districts. The preparations being made for the security of Ram Navami were reviewed. During the review, DCs and Superintendents of Police of all the districts of the state presented the complete plan of preparations made for Ram Navami in their respective districts before the Home Secretary and DGP. DGP said that extensive security arrangements are being made by the Police Headquarters for the security of Ram Navami in Jharkhand. Especially instructions have been issued to remain alert in all sensitive districts.

The DGP said that apart from the district police, special forces will also be deployed in sensitive districts of the state where cases of communal tension have been reported in the past. According to the DGP, the police will keep a special vigil on anti-social elements in all the districts, while all the districts have been ordered to stay in touch with dignitaries of all sections, so that any emergency can be dealt with. SPs of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Palamu, Giridih, Hazaribagh districts have been specially instructed to remain alert regarding Ram Navami.

DGP said that communal elements across the state are being identified. A list is being made in all the districts of those people who have been involved in communal incidents. Information is also being collected about what action has been taken by the police at the police station level against the people involved in such incidents. Information is also being taken from all the police stations about the elements involved in the violence during the earlier clashes. Such people are being identified and preventive action is being taken against them. Information is also being collected about the reason behind the incident and the people involved in it.

The meeting was attended by ADG Operations Dr Sanjay Anandrao Lathkar, IG Akhilesh Kumar Jha, IG Operations Amol Vinukant Homkar and senior police officers and Deputy Commissioners from all the districts through video conferencing.
