Ranchi, 13 April (Hindu). On behalf of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Ranchi Metropolitan, a Kabaddi competition was organized in the volleyball ground of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University under Khelo India. Kabaddi competition was organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, a total of 11 teams participated in it. In this, mainly National Head of Khelo India Activity Pradeep Shekhawat, National Coordinator of Khelo India Pallavi Gadi, Coordinator of Khelo India Jharkhand Province Gaurav Rai, Minister Rituraj, Ranchi Metropolitan Khelo India Coordinator Mukul inaugurated the Kabaddi competition.
On the occasion, National Head of Khelo India Activity Pradeep Shekhawat said that ABVP strives for the all-round development of students by connecting them with sports under Khelo India for the all-round development of students along with education in the university. It is very important for the young generation to get involved in sports to maintain the mental and physical fitness of the students. He said that at present most of the youth are busy in playing mobile games, the youth should go to the field and play. Also, they should take more interest in playing. He said that the Council is working to create awareness and enthusiasm for sports among the students through its dimension Khelo Bharat. From time to time, various sports activities competitions are organized to increase students' interest in sports.
ABVP's National Sports Coordinator Pallavi Gadi said that through the Khelo Bharat dimension of the Council, the aim is to bring forward such students in the university and society who are adept in their art and sports. He said that if today's youth remains associated with sports, they can be free from various types of problems. Today, there are such youth in the society who are becoming victims of drug addiction, by associating them with sports, their self-power can be improved. Our aim is to make them capable again by increasing their qualifications. Also, those youth who want to make their career through sports have to follow the right guidelines and take them forward. In this technological era, the youth is moving away from physical work. Children are being less busy in the field and more busy with mobile phones, due to which they are becoming victims of mental stress and depression. Our aim should be to save our future generations by connecting them with sports.
Ranchi District Boys and Ranchi District Girls team emerged victorious in the Kabaddi competition. Vidyarthi Parishad state head Pankaj Kumar and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University Vice-Chancellor Dr Tapan Kumar Shandilya honored him by giving him medal and memento.
