Ranchi, 13 April (HS). After hoisting the flag in the National Word Power Championship held in Mumbai, the little champions reached Ranchi on Saturday. At Ranchi Airport, State Program Officer Abhinav Kumar welcomed these champion children and the entire team with a bouquet.
Jharkhand team has won the tough National Word Power Championship of English held in Mumbai, defeating 5 other states including host Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu and winning the championship title. In this competition, Jharkhand stood first, Maharashtra stood second and Tamil Nadu stood third. The competition is organized on the lines of America's popular spelling bee competition. This competition for school children is organized by Leap for Word and Merico organization at block level, district level, state level and national level.
Eight children were included, four represented the state
On 11th and 12th April, 8 children from Jharkhand participated in the National Word Power Championship. In the main final competition held for children from classes two to five, four children from each class represented the state and won overall. The children who participated in this National Championship held in Mumbai include Samarjeet Mahato, Asha Kumari, Anoop Mahato, Sumit Mahato, Ankit Mahato, Prabhat Ranjan, Neelam Kumari, Asad Akhtar Ansari.
