BRS leader Kavitha threatened Sharat Reddy, gave Rs 5 lakh 25 crore to AAP: CBI claims in court

Delhi Excise Policy Case: CBI has made a big revelation in the court regarding Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader Kavita, accused in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. Seeking Kavita's custody, the CBI told the court, 'Kavita has given money to Sharat Reddy, promoter of Carbindo Pharma. A threat was made to recover Rs 25 crore. However, the court sent Kavita to CBI custody till April 15.

CBI told the court, 'K., daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao. Kavitha told Sharath Reddy that if he does not give money to AAP in Delhi, his business in Telangana and the capital may suffer losses. Sharat Chandra Reddy is now a government witness in the money laundering case related to the Delhi Liquor Policy case. The responsibility of investigating the case lies with the Enforcement Directorate (ED). CBI has not yet filed any charge sheet against Sharath Reddy.

The CBI alleged, 'Kavitha told Sharath Chandra Reddy that for each retail area for liquor business, Rs. Rs 5 crore will have to be paid. The same payment was made to his associates Arun R Pillai and Abhishek, who in turn would coordinate with Vijay Nair, who was the representative of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.'

CBI made arrest after interrogation

ED had arrested him on March 15 from Kavita's house in Hyderabad. After interrogation, CBI took Kavita into custody on Thursday. The investigating agency has claimed that during interrogation the BRS leader did not answer the questions even after showing evidence. After this, he was presented in the court on Friday and his custody was sought for further questioning. After hearing the investigating agency's side, the court sent Kavita to judicial custody till April 15.
