Melbourne: Federal Member of Parliament Sam Ray hosted a Baisakhi dinner for the local Sikh community in Caroline Springs, West Melbourne. Representatives of the Sikh community, especially from Melton and its surrounding areas, had arrived on this occasion.
Sam Ray warmly welcomed all the visiting dignitaries and in his address, Sam congratulated the entire Sikh community on Baisakhi Day and said that the Sikh community living in Australia is an integral part of us and those who came here through their hard work Have achieved different heights.
He said that whenever there was any trouble in Australia, the Sikh community came forward on every front and helped the citizens here. Sam said that whether it was the forest fire tragedy or the Covid pandemic, they provided tireless services. During the Covid pandemic lockdown, when people avoided leaving their homes, the Sikh community went door-to-door and provided ration and food to the needy. It was not only food they provided but also hope for those in need. Sam said that during the Covid pandemic, he got a chance to see the Sikh community and the service they provide and he was very impressed. He said that the growth of the Sikh community in the western suburbs and having so many friends of the Sikh community is a matter of pride for me. I deeply appreciate what the Sikh community has done for the lives of Australians. “I really value the relationship between me and the Sikh community,” he concluded.
