Cyclone Murasu wreaks havoc in Andhra Pradesh: Bodies of four fishermen from Tamil Nadu, who went missing after their boat capsized in the sea, recovered.

The signs of devastation and painful accidents caused by the recent dangerous cyclonic storm ‘Murasu’ in the coastal areas of South India are slowly coming to light. This natural disaster created such havoc on the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu that the world of many families was destroyed. The latest and extremely sad news is coming out from Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, where the bodies of four of the nine fishermen from Tamil Nadu who went missing after their boat capsized in the sea during Cyclone Murasu have been recovered. After this heart-wrenching incident, there has been a wave of mourning in the coastal areas, while rescue operations are being carried out on a war footing to find the remaining five missing fishermen. Let us know in detail what happened inside the sea during this severe cyclone and how the relief and rescue operations are being carried out by the administration.

Orgy of Cyclone Murasu: Prakasam District Collector P. Raja Babu gave complete information

District Collector of Prakasam district, P. Raja Babu, while giving information about this entire tragic incident to the media and news agency PTI, said that all these fishermen from Tamil Nadu had left Chennai for sea fishing on October 29. When the Meteorological Department issued a warning of the arrival of Cyclone ‘Murasu’, these fishermen were advised to take their boats and return to a safe place.

After coming from Chennai, these fishermen had parked their boats safely on various coasts of Andhra Pradesh. Of these, three boats were parked at Ramayapatnam port and one boat was parked at Nizamapatnam port. Officials were hopeful that all the boats and people on board were safe, but human plans were dashed in the face of nature’s fierce fury and Cyclone Murasu turned everything upside down.

How did this horrific accident happen? It was difficult to enter the sea without any notice.

According to initial investigation and reports given by the district administration, Tamil Nadu authorities had confirmed on November 2 that all the fishermen and their boats were safe at the respective ports. But after this, on November 3, a major negligence or haste came to light. Nine fishermen, aboard a boat docked at Nizampatnam port, moved their boat towards Ramayapatnam to reach their other comrades, without giving any information to any local authorities in Andhra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu.

As soon as these nine fishermen were going towards Ramayapatnam with their boat, due to the effect of Cyclone Murasu, strong winds started blowing in the sea and the weather became very terrible. Due to strong winds and high dangerous waves, their boat lost balance and capsized in the middle of the sea. After this tragic accident, all nine fishermen went missing in deep water, after which the Coast Guard and the local administration were immediately informed.

Bodies of four fishermen recovered, three bodies washed up on the shore

As the rescue operation progressed, scary pictures of this accident started emerging. After the search conducted so far, bodies of four of the nine missing fishermen have been recovered. According to information received from the administration, out of the four bodies recovered, three bodies were washed ashore in Kothapatnam, while the fourth body was pulled out of the water during an intensive search operation.

All four bodies are being sent to the local government general hospital (GGH) to complete legal and medical formalities. Prakasam District Collector said that he has directly spoken to top officials of the Tamil Nadu government in this regard, and a special team of officials from Tamil Nadu has left for Andhra Pradesh. The team also includes an assistant director of the fisheries department, who will confirm the identity of the deceased and assist the local administration in completing the paperwork.

Search continues for five more missing fishermen, arrangements to take out the overturned boat also

The biggest priority for the administration at this time is to find the remaining five missing fishermen safely or to get any concrete information about them. Collector P. Raja Babu has assured that the search operation for the five missing fishermen will continue with full alertness with the help of Coast Guard, Marine Police and local divers. Apart from this, special arrangements are being made to pull the damaged boat that capsized in the sea to the safe shore.

After completion of the formalities, all the recovered bodies will be handed over with respect to the Tamil Nadu authorities so that they can return them to their families. Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu government has also announced full cooperation in relief efforts by sending a team of its officials to Andhra Pradesh.

Cyclone ‘Mursu’ hit the coast near Ongole between Nellore and Naraspur.

It is noteworthy that this severe cyclonic storm named ‘Murasu’ had crossed the coast of South Andhra Pradesh early on Tuesday. The cyclone has caused massive devastation in the coastal areas between Nellore and Naraspur, especially near Ongole. Strong storm, torrential rain and surging ocean waves have caused huge damage to trees, electric poles and houses in the coastal areas. Despite all the warnings from the weather department and the government, this untoward incident under the sea once again proves how costly a little carelessness can be during natural disasters. The administration has once again appealed to the citizens and fishermen of all coastal areas not to take any risk of venturing into the sea until the weather becomes completely normal.
