Big statement on America-Iran tension: Supreme Leader of Iran said- It is necessary to end the uncertain situation of ‘neither war, nor peace’

Amidst the ongoing deep military tension and sporadic clashes between America and Iran in West Asia, a major political and diplomatic message has emerged from Tehran. During a high-level meeting with top security officials, Iran’s Supreme Leader made it clear that the current state of indecision between the two sides—which he “Neither War Nor Peace” It is termed as the era of –cannot continue for long and needs to end soon. The Supreme Leader underlined that strategic uncertainty is not only affecting Iran’s national interests, but also deeply impacting the economic stability and security of the entire region. He said in clear words that if the war or standoff has to end, it will be possible only after fully accepting Iran’s sovereignty, security rights and its pre-conditions.

The Iranian leadership stressed that Tehran will not yield to any unilateral pressure or military threats and will not compromise. Key conditions have been put forward by Iran to end the war and current tensions:

  • Complete abolition of economic sanctions: The stringent economic, oil and financial sanctions imposed by America should be completely removed and the country’s frozen foreign assets should be released immediately.

  • Protection of Rights of Regional Resistance Front: The interests and security of not only Iran, but also Lebanon and its allies in the region must be guaranteed.

  • End of the naval and military siege: External military interference and blockade of ships in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf should be completely ended. Iran bluntly said that any peace draft can be practical only if it gives equal status to Tehran and its strategic interests are not ignored.

This statement has come at a time when tension remains at its peak in the world’s most important oil trading route ‘Strait of Hormuz’. In recent times, incidents of attacks on oil tankers, landmines and naval collisions have shaken international trade. About 20% of the world’s crude oil supply passes through this narrow waterway. Iran’s top leadership believes that this tension in the sea is bringing huge instability in the global energy market, to solve which America will have to step back from its aggressive policy.

In recent months there have been efforts to maintain contacts for a ceasefire and a permanent solution through various international forums and third countries (such as Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey). However, the situation on the ground remains critical in the absence of a concrete agreement. While the US administration is reiterating the demand for peace in the region and control over Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, Iran says that any kind of dialogue can depend only on the fulfillment of its conditions. This message from Khamenei indicates that Iran is now applying pressure to take this long-drawn uncertainty to a decisive turn.
