Purnia: On Thursday afternoon, the police raided the office of Congress rebel and independent candidate Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav at Arjun Bhawan under the leadership of Sadar MLA Pushkar Kumar. The police checked the documents of the campaign vehicles present there.
SDPO demanded the documents of the cut-out DJ installed in the campaign vehicle. Apart from this, permission letters of many other vehicles prepared for campaign were also asked to be shown. The office staff informed him about receipt of the approval application at the counter.
SDPO said that it was a routine investigation operation. In this, all the documents of the vehicle are taken. In this regard, whether the application has been given in the single window or not, it will be investigated by the Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer and then action will be taken at the level of the senior officer.
'To harass all opponents…'
The former MP remained present in the office during this entire process. Later he told journalists that all the opponents were using every trick to harass him. They are following the instructions of the Election Commission. Application has been made for permission for the concerned vehicles. He said that the opposition as well as the people in power have become nervous due to the tremendous support they are getting from the public. He said that before joining Congress, he was getting Y category security from the Central Government. Now there is no arrangement for house guard here. Only four guards have been provided for security.
Pappu Yadav further said, because of the immense love received from the public, now the opponents want to kill him. He also talked to the Superintendent of Police several times regarding this matter but to no avail. Any action taken by DM and SP should be in writing. They are not afraid of such action.
