Jharkhand’s mood changed after the departure of monsoon

Like other parts of the country, the South-West Monsoon has completely departed from Jharkhand too. With the return of monsoon, a major change is being seen in the weather of the state. After the rainy season has stopped, now a slight shiver has started being felt in the morning and evening, which has brought great relief to the people from the humid heat. As the great festival Chhath (Chhath Puja) is coming closer after Mahashivratri and Diwali, the question has started arising in the minds of people whether the weather will be clear during Chhath Puja this year or will the rain spoil their joy. India Meteorological Department (IMD) Ranchi Center has released the official update regarding the weather of the coming days, due to which the curiosity of the devotees and the general public has been quenched to a great extent.

According to the Meteorological Centre, this year the monsoon has made its complete withdrawal from the entire country including Jharkhand around the scheduled time. Since the departure of monsoon by mid-October, the weather in most of the districts of the state has remained completely dry. There has been a complete stop to rain activities in many areas including Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh and Daltganj for the last few days. There is bright sunshine during the day due to which the maximum temperature is being recorded around normal i.e. in the range of 29 to 34 degrees Celsius. However, as the night falls, a slight drop in mercury has started, due to which the minimum temperature has reached between 18 to 24 degrees Celsius, and light cold winds are being felt in the morning.

The biggest question that is in the mind of every Jharkhand resident at this time is that what will be the weather pattern during the four-day Chhath Puja, the great festival of folk faith. Can the devotees face rain while offering Arghya? On this, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has clarified that there is no possibility of any cyclone or strong Western Disturbance becoming active in Jharkhand in the next one to two weeks. This simply means that there is no chance of rain in any district of the state during Chhath Puja. The sky will be absolutely clear during the entire four days and the day will be bright and sunny. However, due to drop in temperature after evening, a feeling of mild cold will definitely persist, which will make the atmosphere of the festival more pleasant.

Due to the departure of monsoon and entry of north-westerly winds, the sound of winter season is gradually being heard in Jharkhand. In rural areas and plateau areas like Kanke, McCluskieganj and Netarhat, the night temperature is falling rapidly, due to which a slight pinkish cold is being felt there. Meteorologists predict that after Diwali and Chhath, there will be a further drop in night temperatures in the state, due to which the cold will start reaching its full extent. Due to this pleasant change in weather, people have started taking out warm clothes and light sheets.

The Meteorological Department has clarified that at present there is no need for farmers and common citizens to worry, as the weather will remain completely favorable and dry. For those who have to travel towards their homes or river ghats on the occasion of Chhath Mahaparva, the weather is going to be completely supportive for them. No rain warning has been issued, due to which the devotees will be able to perform the worship of Sun God and Chhathi Maiya with full devotion and enthusiasm without any hindrance. Amidst the clear sunshine and pleasant weather, this festive season of Jharkhand is expected to be completely full of enthusiasm.
