Shiva Sharma murder case: Accused fled to Nepal? Model Shraddha Dubey’s luxury SUV found abandoned at Bahraich border; Police sent 3 teams

Police investigation has intensified in the case of death of 28-year-old businessman Shiva Sharma under suspicious circumstances after falling from the fourth floor of Awadh Green Apartment in Hazratganj area of the capital Lucknow. During the search for the main accused, model and social media influencer Shraddha Dubey, her sister Rashmi Dubey and her helpers, who are absconding since the incident, a major clue has been found on the India-Nepal international border. Shraddha Dubey’s white Mahindra Scorpio-N SUV has been recovered in an abandoned condition from a private parking lot in Rupaidiha town adjacent to the Nepal border in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. After finding the vehicle just a short distance from the border post, the investigating agencies have strong suspicion that the accused may have dodged the police and entered Nepal by crossing the border by road, on foot or through some local contact.

According to inputs received from local police and intelligence agencies, police had received information about this SUV with Uttar Pradesh registration number (UP-32) parked in suspicious condition in Shukla parking of Rupidha town. During interrogation of the parking staff, it was found that this vehicle was parked there since October 10 and even after a lot of time had passed, no one came to take it. The special team of Lucknow Police reached the spot and matched the documents and chassis number of the vehicle, which confirmed that this SUV belonged to the accused model Shraddha Dubey. Forensic experts have collected fingerprints and digital evidence from the car to establish who was traveling in the vehicle from Lucknow to Rupidha.

The police team, which is connecting the links of the case, has found out the entire route of the absconder from the initial investigation and call detail records (CDR):

  • First aid from hospital: Late on October 9, when injured Shiva was declared dead at KGMU Trauma Centre, accused Shraddha and her sister called their old acquaintance Aamir (Rizwan) to the spot.

  • Changing Car: The accused first came out of Lucknow in a Swift Dezire car and on the way changed vehicles to their Scorpio-N.

  • Drop at Border: During interrogation, it has come to light that the helpers took both the sisters to Rupidha border of Bahraich, where they left the car and crossed the border. There are also inputs that both the sisters were seen walking suspiciously in the border town of Nepal (like Mahimnagar/Nepalganj) across the border, after which they are continuously changing their locations.

Due to the continuous absconding of the accused, Lucknow Commissionerate Police has announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 each on the main accused model Shraddha Dubey, her sister Rashmi Dubey and driver Tanveer Ali alias Danish. Along with this, lookout notices and photos have already been sent to all the airports of the country. Now after the vehicle was found on the Nepal border, 3 special teams of Uttar Pradesh Police have been deployed in the border areas of Lakhimpur Kheri and Bahraich. Indian security agencies are coordinating with Nepal Police and local contacts to nab the accused from the International Border area.

Deceased Shiva Sharma, who operated a clothing showroom and restaurant in Aliganj, Lucknow, was in a live-in relationship with Shraddha Dubey for the last few months. Shiva’s mother Ranjana Sharma has alleged in the FIR lodged at Hazratganj Kotwali that model Shraddha was blackmailing Shiva by showing fear of her influence and contacts with underworld and history-sheeters. The mother claims that her son was held hostage in the flat, his body was burnt with a cigarette and later murdered by being thrown from the fourth floor. Police say that after the recovery of the abandoned vehicle, the noose is now being tightened against the syndicate that helped in the absconding and soon the accused will be taken into custody.
