UPCON’s new initiative on Navratri, ‘Entrepreneur Buddy’ will show the path to entrepreneurship

Lucknow, 13 October. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, efforts are being continuously expanded in Uttar Pradesh to connect the youth with employment as well as self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. In this sequence, on the occasion of Navratri, Uttar Pradesh Industrial Consultants Limited (UPCON) launched ‘Udyami Buddy’ mascot at various Youth Adda centers of the state to encourage youth and women entrepreneurs. Through this initiative, youth, especially daughters, were motivated to identify their dreams, develop skills and convert their ideas into businesses.

Hundreds of youth enthusiastically participated in the programs organized at Youth Adda centers in various districts including Lucknow, Moradabad, Azamgarh, Mirzapur, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Gonda and Varanasi. These included young women who wanted to start their own business as well as women entrepreneurs who were already doing business.

Message of self-reliance received from ‘Mera Sapna, Meri Shakti’

‘My Dream, My Power’ activity was organized during the programme. Participants were asked to write down their dreams and the skills they would like to learn in the future. Its objective was to inspire girls and youth to identify their interest and potential and develop their ideas as enterprises. Excellent participants were also rewarded.

‘Entrepreneur Buddy’ is a symbol of the dreams of the new generation.

‘Entrepreneur Buddy’ is a mascot designed as a young girl. It represents the thinking of the new generation, in which the youth want to create their own identity by exploring new opportunities on the basis of their talents and skills. By linking this initiative with the message of women power and self-reliance during Navratri, young women were motivated to become economically empowered.

Youth being linked to government schemes

In the programs, the participants were given information about Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (CM Yuva), Chief Minister Yuva Self-Employment Scheme (NYSY) and other loan and assistance schemes of the MSME department. The youth were told that they can implement their business ideas by taking advantage of the financial assistance and guidance available through government schemes. Through Youth Adda, efforts are being made to connect the youth with entrepreneurship related information, guidance and government schemes. This is also strengthening the resolve of the Yogi government to make the youth employment providers and not employment seekers.

The idea of providing employment along with finding employment.

On this occasion, UPCON Managing Director Praveen Singh said that the aim of UPCON’s initiative is to connect youth, especially women, with entrepreneurship opportunities and motivate them to seek employment as well as create employment themselves. Through Youth Adda, youth are being provided entrepreneurship related information, guidance and opportunity to connect with government schemes. He said that ‘Entrepreneur Buddy’ is not just a mascot but a message to inspire the youth to dream, learn skills and stand on their own feet.
