Fatehpur, 11 April (HS). On Thursday, in a dispute over buying mutton in the district, a young man attacked another youth with a chopper and killed him. The accused absconded after the murder. Police is investigating the matter.
Sher Ali, a resident of Thariyav police station and town, had gone to a shop at some distance from home to buy mutton on the occasion of Eid. An altercation broke out over the purchase of mutton from Chaman Ali, who was already present in the shop. During a minor altercation, the dispute escalated to such an extent that Chaman Ali killed Sher Ali by attacking him with a mace. The incident of murder that took place in broad daylight left everyone stunned. The deceased had returned home from Pune just two days ago on Eid.
Superintendent of Police Uday Shankar Singh said that on receiving information about the incident, the police force reached the spot, investigated the matter, took possession of the body, sent it for post-mortem and registered a case on the basis of the complaint lodged by the family members. The police team is taking action to arrest the murderer. He will be arrested soon.
