Shri Maurya said that in the review of THR plants operated under the mission, 102 plants have been found to be in a profitable position. It is necessary to take the remaining 202 plants also towards profit. Keshav Prasad Maurya directed the officials of the Rural Development Department to make concrete efforts to make the women of self-help groups financially self-reliant by making all the activities conducted under the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission more effective.
For this, the concerned officers should review the functioning, production capacity, quality, cost and marketing system of each plant and make an effective action plan to remove the shortcomings. He said that the success of these plants will provide employment opportunities to women and strengthen the economic condition of self-help groups. He said that through self-help groups, women are increasing the income of their families by getting involved in agriculture, animal husbandry, food processing, milk production and various small enterprises. This is leading to improvement in their standard of living, children’s education, better care of the family and increase in social respect.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officials to pay special attention to providing training, financial assistance, bank loans, technical guidance and markets to women. They said that The objective of the Double Engine Government is not only to connect women with groups, but also to create the basis of a self-reliant rural economy by making them successful entrepreneurs.
