‘Come, let’s try our luck in Ayodhya’: CM Yogi countered on Akhilesh’s challenge, said- SP chief should enter the field himself

Ayodhya, the holy city of Lord Shri Ram, has once again become the focal point of the politics of Uttar Pradesh. The political temperature has risen after Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav gave an open challenge to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to contest elections from Ayodhya. Now Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the top leadership of BJP have strongly retaliated against this move of Akhilesh. Accepting the challenge directly, CM Yogi cornered the SP chief and said in a clear tone that if he has so much confidence in his strength and the survey, then he should leave the safe land of Saifai, Mainpuri or Kannauj and come to Ayodhya himself and try his luck face to face. After this war of words, the political atmosphere of Uttar Pradesh has completely heated up.

This political conflict started when Akhilesh Yadav had reached a religious program organized at the residence of SP candidate and former minister Pawan Pandey in Ayodhya. While addressing the workers from the stage there, Akhilesh Yadav fiercely attacked the BJP government. He claimed that after SP announced its candidate, all internal surveys of BJP are failing and the ruling party is not able to find any strong candidate in Ayodhya. Akhilesh said in a challenging tone that if the Chief Minister, who makes big promises and claims to make milk milk, water water, is so confident about the public support, then he should try contesting the assembly elections from Ayodhya instead of any other seat, the people of Ayodhya will reveal the truth.

After this statement of Akhilesh Yadav, the BJP camp took charge without any delay. In the reply given by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a clear message was given that any BJP worker has the capability to defeat any big leader of SP on the sacred ground of Ayodhya. CM Yogi retorted and said that he is a public servant and can contest elections from any corner of the state, but the real question is whether Akhilesh Yadav himself has ever been able to muster the courage to come out of family strongholds like Saifai, Etawah, Mainpuri or Azamgarh and contest elections from a normal seat? BJP leaders tauntedly said that instead of giving advice to others, Akhilesh Yadav should himself contest the elections from Ayodhya, so that the public can decide whether to support faith and development or familyism.

Along with this election challenge, another big controversy has arisen regarding Akhilesh Yadav’s visit to Ayodhya. The SP chief reached Ayodhya and also participated in the Bhagwat Katha, but he did not go to the newly constructed grand Ram Janmabhoomi temple and have darshan of Ramlala. Taking it to task, BJP ministers and leaders alleged that Akhilesh Yadav talks about Ayodhya only for political gains, but he shy away from visiting Ram temple due to fear of appeasement and vote bank politics. On this, SP leaders retorted and said that Lord Shri Ram resides in every particle and faith is not dependent on the certificate of any party.

Since the election results of Ayodhya Lok Sabha seat, Samajwadi Party has been continuously working on the strategy to corner BJP in this area. SP alleges that in the name of development in Ayodhya, lands and shops of local businessmen, shopkeepers and farmers were snatched without proper compensation. On the other hand, the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claims that Ayodhya has been developed as an international tourism and spiritual capital, the entire state is benefiting from it. Now, after the direct challenge between the two top leaders regarding the Ayodhya seat, it has been decided that in the coming days, the biggest battle of UP politics will be fought on the political pitch of Ramnagari.
