Even CM Samrat Chaudhary could not take any strict action in the NDA meeting.

These days, political excitement is at its peak in the politics of Bihar regarding the Legislative Council (MLC) elections. The infighting within the NDA alliance and the rebellious attitude of Mokama’s strong MLA Anant Singh has created a stir in the political circles. Recently, in the high-level meeting of NDA convened under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, the unity of the alliance was discussed, but the frankness with which JDU MLA Anant Singh came out of the meeting and made his stand clear made it clear that at present the strong MLAs are not ready to bow down. Political analysts believe that this is not the first time in the political history of Bihar when a big leader has had to take the help of powerful leaders; There have been many such turns in the political journey of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself when he had to face such uncomfortable situations to solve political equations. This is the reason that in this general meeting of NDA, even CM Samrat Chaudhary could not take any very strict or radical step in the case of Anant Singh.

There is internal tension going on in the NDA camp regarding ticket distribution and candidates for the upcoming elections on 8 seats of Bihar Legislative Council. Especially from Patna Graduate constituency, JDU has fielded its senior leader and Legislative Councilor Neeraj Kumar, who is being openly opposed by Mokama MLA Anant Singh. Anant Singh has announced to move away from the party line and support Jan Suraj supported or other independent candidate Anuj Kumar Singh. He clearly says that when he himself was in the election field, Neeraj Kumar had worked against him, hence he will not allow Neeraj Kumar to win this time. Despite several rounds of persuasion by the top leadership of JDU and NDA and the efforts of Union Ministers Lalan Singh and Sanjay Jha, Anant Singh remains completely firm on his decision.

A big meeting of all NDA MLAs, Legislative Councilors and ministers was organized at the Chief Minister’s residence in the capital Patna. The main agenda of this meeting was to energize the rebels in the upcoming MLC elections and ensure the victory of NDA candidates on all the seats. Although Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary had given clear instructions that those working against the coalition religion would not be spared, but when Anant Singh came out after the meeting was over, on media questions he bluntly reiterated that he would support Anuj Singh under any circumstances and would campaign for him daily. Anant Singh’s attitude of showing indifference on what was discussed in the meeting proved that despite wanting to, the top leaders of the alliance are currently hesitant in imposing discipline on him.

The politics of Bihar has its own unique style where sometimes uncomfortable equations have to be accepted to overcome the electoral hurdles. If we turn the pages of the past, it is well known that various parties have from time to time taken indirect or direct help of powerful and influential leaders to correct their electoral mathematics. Even during the long rule of Nitish Kumar, such situations have been managed on many occasions to maintain political stability. Today, when the NDA is facing the challenge of winning all the seats in the graduate and teacher constituencies, and at the same time new political forces like Prashant Kishor’s party Jan Suraj are trying to spoil the equation, taking too strict action against any big regional satrap or MLA can prove to be harmful for the alliance. This is the reason why CM Samrat Chaudhary and JDU leadership are taking very careful steps in this matter so that the pot of the house does not spill out.
