15 Naxalites surrender in Chaibasa

West Singhbhum, April 11 (Hindustan Reporter) 15 Naxalites of CPI Maoist have surrendered. All the Naxalites surrendered before DIG Manoj Ratan IV, DC Kuldeep Chaudhary and SP Ashutosh Shekhar during a program organized in the police line at Chaibasa, the district headquarters of West Singhbhum on Thursday. The 15 Naxalites who surrendered had criminal history. Cases are registered against them in different police stations of Chaibasa district.

SP Ashutosh Shekhar said that out of the 15 Naxalites who laid down their arms before the security forces, 7 are below 30 years of age. One is a minor and three are only 19 years old. The age of a Naxalite is 50 years.

Police and security forces say that due to internal exploitation of CPI Maoist organization, blackmailing and increasing police raids, many Naxalites are joining the mainstream. Naxalites surrendered en masse before Jharkhand Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

A continuous campaign is being conducted against Naxalites in Chaibasa district from the year 2022. Since 2022, a total of 161 Naxalites have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. A total of 11 Naxalites surrendered before the police in the years 2022 and 2023. A total of 375 explosives, weapons, cartridges and other items of daily use were recovered from them. Along with this, the permanent camp of Naxalites, ERB headquarters, 08-10 temporary camps and 15 bunkers were demolished. To curb the extremist activities in Chaibasa, 16 new security camps have also been created to maintain the sense of security created in the minds of the common people in the insurgency affected police station area.

Campaign against Naxalites has been going on in the forests of Kolhan for the last two years.

For the last two years, a campaign against Naxalites is being conducted in the forests of Kolhan. After freeing Budha Pahar, Bulbul Jungle, Khunti, Chaibasa and tri-junction area of ​​Seraikela-Kharsawan from Naxalites, the focus of security forces is on Saranda area of ​​West Singhbhum. All the big Naxalites are said to be confined to this area. Their siege has been going on for several months. Thanks to Jharkhand Police and CRPF personnel, dozens of villages under the influence of Naxalites have been freed from them. Security forces have also suffered losses in this operation.

2- 7 cases are registered against Chandromohan alias Chandro Angaria alias Roshan (29), village Sasangwal, police station-Goilkera, district West Singhbhum in Goilkera police station.

3- 5 cases are registered against Pagla Gop alias Ghasiram Gop (49), village- Huspi, police station- Tonto, district- West Singhbhum in Tonto and Goilkera police stations of the district.

4- Four cases are registered against Vijay Boypai alias Aman Boypai (23), Village- Boypai Sasangsal Kuida, Tola- Shrajangkocha, Police Station- Goilkera, District- West Singhbhum in Tonto and Goilkera police stations.

5- 3 cases are registered against Ganga Ram Purti alias Motka Purti (19), Ti, Village- Tumbahaka, Tola Purti Tola, Police Station- Tonto, District- West Singhbhum in Tonto Police Station.

6- 2 cases are registered against Boyo Koda (46), Da, Village- Rengadhaatu, Police Station- Tonto, District- West Singhbhum in Tonto Police Station.

7- Two cases are registered against Jogen Koda (44), Village- Rengdahatu, Police Station- Tonto, District- West Singhbhum in Tonto Police Station.

8- 2 cases are registered in Tonto police station against Pelong Koda alias Neesha Koda (19), husband- Sonu Champiya, village- Rendahatu, police station- Tonto, district- West Singhbhum.

9- Sonu Champia (19), village- Bahda, police station- Chhota Nagra, district- West Singhbhum, resident of Sonu Champia, has been a member of the local guerrilla squad of CPI Maoist organization.

10- Two cases are registered against Ramja Purti alias Dugud Purti (49), Village- Tumbahaka, Tola- Purti Tola, Police Station- Tonto, District- West Singhbhum in Tonto Police Station.

11- A case is registered against a minor member of CPI Maoist in Tonto police station under UAPA, CLA, Explosive Substances Act.

12- A case is registered against Sohan Singh Hembram alias Seenu (24), Village- Tumbahaka, Tola- Barusai Tola, Police Station- Tonto, District- West Singhbhum in Tonto Police Station.

13- Doran Champia alias Golmay (23), village- Boypai Sasang, police station- Goilkera, district- West Singhbhum, has been a sub zonal committee member of CPI Maoist organization since the year 2016-17.

14- A case is registered against Sushil alias Moga Champiya (50), Village- Titlighat, Police Station- Chhotanagra, District- West Singhbhum in Noamundi Police Station.

15- Mani Champia (40), husband- Sushil alias Moga Champia, village- Titlighat, police station- Chotanagra, district- West Singhbhum, was an active member of the CPI Maoist squad along with her husband.
