Experienced and star fast bowler of the Indian cricket team Mohammed Shami These days, there is a lot of discussion in the cricket circles regarding the return of Team India. Shami played his last match for India in the Champions Trophy final in March 2025. Since then, he remained injured for a long time and after being out of the field, he is now performing brilliantly in domestic cricket.
Despite this, the situation regarding his return to the national team is not clear. Meanwhile, former veteran wicketkeeper-batsman of Team India Dinesh Karthik has given a very shocking and big statement on the possibilities of Mohammed Shami’s comeback, which has sparked a new debate in the cricket world.
Recently, while talking during an interview and podcast, Dinesh Karthik clearly said that even though Mohammed Shami is performing well in domestic cricket, at the present time his return to Team India does not make any sense.
Karthik believes that the Indian team has now moved beyond Shami and the selectors and team management should now look at other young and new bowlers. Speaking on Cricbuzz, Karthik said, “I think there are many other good bowlers out there. India have moved on from them now and there is no point in going back to the old situation. I am not looking at Shami, even though he has bowled brilliantly.”
On one hand, Dinesh Karthik did not show leniency regarding the return of Mohammed Shami, while on the other hand he did not show any leniency towards the return of Mohammed Shami, the two biggest and legendary batsmen of the country. Virat Kohli And Rohit Sharma Has given great support regarding the future of. Karthik says that both these players should continue playing international cricket.
He said, “Yes, both of them are the biggest names of Indian cricket and at this time India is the center of world cricket. In such a situation, if we lose two such excellent and experienced cricketers, it will definitely have a deep impact on the team and global cricket.”
It is noteworthy that both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were seen in excellent form in the recent ODI series played against West Indies. Virat Kohli had led the team to victory by playing a brilliant unbeaten century of 139 runs in the first match of the series, although his performance in the second and third matches was mixed. At the same time, ‘Hitman’ Rohit Sharma also batted brilliantly in this series, scoring one century and one half-century and playing quick innings of 32, 101 and 92 runs respectively in three matches. On one hand, while the senior batsmen continue to shine, on the other hand, the debate over the return of Mohammed Shami has sparked a new discussion regarding team selection.
