Mandi Parishad is busy in implementing the intentions of Chief Minister Yogi, interest of farmers is given top priority

In accordance with the farmer-friendly policies and intentions of the Chief Minister Yogi government, the State Agricultural Production Market Council is taking steps towards making the market system more effective and farmer-centric. This information was given by Director Mandi Parishad Jitendra Pratap Singh. He paid tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri by garlanding their portraits in a program organized in his office on the occasion of their birth anniversary.

On this occasion, Director State Agricultural Production Market Council said that Gandhiji showed the path of truth and non-violence, while Lal Bahadur Shastriji set an example of simplicity, honesty and patriotism. The lives and ideals of both great personalities remain relevant even today. On this occasion, he interacted with the newly appointed Mandi Secretaries and gave the message of giving top priority to the interests of farmers along with improving the Mandi system.

The Director said that with the aim of making the market system in the state more effective and farmer friendly, special training will be given to the newly appointed market secretaries. During the training, market secretaries will be given information about market operations, departmental functioning, quick resolution of problems related to farmers, revenue and other processes as well as effective operation of market systems. Special emphasis will be given to Mandi Secretaries to discharge their responsibilities with complete sensitivity, transparency and accountability.

The Director said that mandis are not just centers for the sale of agricultural produce for farmers, but are also an important medium to provide better facilities and proper environment to the farmers. He directed the market secretaries to ensure that the farmers coming to the markets should not face any inconvenience. He stressed on timely disposal of farmers’ complaints and problems on priority basis and maintaining transparency in every work related to the market system.

Jitendra Pratap Singh asked the market secretaries to establish regular communication with the farmers and commission agents in their respective areas. Information about the problems related to the market system should be obtained and their timely solutions should be provided. Arrangements related to purchase and sale of agricultural produce should be regularly monitored, so that farmers do not have to face any kind of problem.

He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the emphasis of the state government is on protecting the interests of farmers as well as making government systems more accountable and transparent. Market Secretary is an important link of this system, hence he has to fulfill his responsibilities with full seriousness. In the training, Mandi Secretaries will be specially prepared to pay attention to the problems of such farmers who are affected by economic or other difficulties due to some reason. Providing better facilities to farmers in the markets and ensuring timely resolution of their problems should be the priority of the department.
Director Marketing T.K. Shibu said that continuous efforts are being made to make the market system in the state more effective, transparent and farmer friendly. Along with providing better facilities to the farmers in the mandis, their problems are being resolved on a timely and priority basis. He said that the role of Mandi Secretaries is as an important link between the farmers and the Mandi administration. Senior officials of Mandi Parishad were present on this occasion.
