Yogi government busy in restoring power supply affected by rain

Lucknow, 27 September. The Yogi government has intensified monitoring and relief work to quickly normalize the electricity supply affected by the continuous rains in the state.
Principal Secretary Energy and UP Power Corporation Chairman Ranveer Prasad have instructed the officials to work on war footing to normalize power supply as soon as possible. He said that feeder wise disposal of consumer complaints should be ensured and every information received on 1912 should be taken seriously.

The Principal Secretary directed that consumers should also be informed as to when their electricity supply is likely to be restored. He said that power supply to essential services including hospitals and drinking water should be restored on priority basis. Rain and falling of trees have caused massive breakdown in 33 and 11 KV feeders. Electric poles have also been broken at many places. Along with replacing them, the work of repairing the damaged lines is going on day and night. Teams are continuously working even in remote rural areas.

Supply almost normal in urban areas

Discom officials said that power supply has been almost normalized in most of the urban areas of the state including Lucknow. In Madhyanchal, except Bareilly division, supply is normal in urban areas. Six 33 KV substations are closed, which are targeted to be made operational by the evening. In Purvanchal, supply is normal in most urban areas except Basti and Sant Kabirnagar.

Supply is normal in Paschimanchal except rural areas of Amroha, Bijnor, Sambhal and Moradabad. In Dakshinachal, except Etawah, Kannauj, Auraiya and Farrukhabad, power supply has been restored in other cities. There is no breakdown of 33 KV in Kesco area. Supply has been normalized everywhere.

Control room active 24 hours, there should be no shortage of manpower.

The most affected districts include Ambedkarnagar, Bhadohi, Azamgarh, Ballia, Bahraich, Basti, Bareilly, Gonda, Deoria, Lakhimpur, Mau, Siddharthnagar, Kanpur Dehat, Hamirpur, Shahjahanpur, Agra, Firozabad, Kanpur Nagar, Bulandshahr, Gorakhpur and Varanasi Rural. Continuous monitoring is being done. Officers from the headquarters have been sent to the districts. The executing agencies engaged in RDSS and Business Plan work have also been engaged in maintenance work.

Shakti Bhavan and Discom control rooms active 24 hours

UPPCL Chairman said that there should be no shortage of manpower in the work of restoration of power supply. The work should be done by continuous monitoring district and feeder wise and not even a single feeder should be left out. Electricity supply to hospitals, drinking water and other essential services should be restored on priority basis. He said that there is adequate availability of material. Shakti Bhawan and control rooms of all Discoms are active 24 hours. Managing Directors of Discoms gave detailed information about the problems faced in their respective areas and the ongoing maintenance works through video conferencing. UPPCL Managing Director Nitesh Kumar also gave necessary directions to the officials.
