Maha-clash in theaters this week: 15 films including Nani’s ‘The Paradise’ and ‘The One’ are being released, South’s power will be seen at the box office.

This week is going to be no less than a big festival for cinema lovers. After the slow pace of the last few weeks, there has suddenly been a huge influx of films at the box office. A total of 15 films are hitting the screens simultaneously this week in multiplexes and single-screen theaters across India. While on one hand some special genre films of Bollywood are trying to make their place, on the other hand the dominance of South cinema is once again clearly visible. Telugu Natural Star Nani’s most awaited big-budget period action-drama ‘The Paradise’ and much talked about film ‘The One’ Movies like these are all set to attract huge crowds of viewers at the ticket windows of theatres.

The biggest and most talked about release of this week is considered to be Telugu superstar Nani’s film ‘The Paradise’. After the superhit film ‘Dasara’, the pair of director Shrikant Odela and Nani have once again come together on the big screen. Set in the backdrop of 1980s Secunderabad and Hyderabad, the film presents a gruesome, raw and emotional story of an exploited class and its struggle for rights. The film has received an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which clearly shows that it will have high-octane violence and intense drama.

Along with Nani, Bollywood actor Raghav Juyal is also making his South debut in a very important and shocking role in the film. Additionally, the presence of seasoned actors like Kayadu Lohar, veteran actor Mohan Babu, Sonali Kulkarni and Sampurnesh Babu makes it a huge project on a pan-India level. The explosive songs and background score of the film has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, due to which advance booking at the ticket window is already running at a record breaking pace.

There is tremendous craze among the audience regarding the release of ‘The Paradise’. The Telangana government has given special permission to revise the ticket rates for the opening days of the film, allowing additional premium shows to be run in single screens and multiplexes for the first four days. The film’s premiere shows and night shows have become increasingly houseful in major cities of the country like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai and Delhi-NCR. Trade analysts believe that this film of Nani’s career can register an opening of Rs 50 to Rs 60 crore worldwide on the very first day.

Amidst the huge buzz of ‘The Paradise’, many other big projects are also hitting the theaters this week. Among these, ‘The One – Force of the Forest’ (Vvan) and ‘The One’ based on mystery and folk thriller are in the center of discussion, which present to the audience a mysterious thrilling journey based on Indian folklore, mysterious forests and ancient beliefs.

Along with this, many different genre films are also being released from Bollywood and regional cinema. ‘Sri Ramayan Katha’, an epic based on religious and mythological themes, ‘Love Lottery’, a suspense and courtroom thriller (starring Akshay Oberoi in the lead role) and ‘Don’t Be Shy!’, a romantic comedy that depicts the life, romance and complexities of youth.
