A new and historic chapter of Mission Rozgar was written during a grand government function organized on Saturday in the main auditorium of Lok Bhavan in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Just before the state assembly elections, with a resolve to secure and strengthen the future of the youth, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath handed over government appointment letters to 818 candidates finally selected in various competitive examinations. From this dignified platform, the Chief Minister, while taking a political dig at the Samajwadi Party and the opposition parties, bluntly said, ‘The opposition will only keep counting the allegations and we will keep distributing appointment letters to the talented youth of the state without any recommendation.’ He publicly announced that the government has set an unachievable target of providing permanent government jobs to more than one lakh youth within the next six months through fair and transparent selection processes.
In this distribution program organized at Lok Bhavan, selected candidates from many important cadres were inducted into the service to strengthen the infrastructure of medical, health and technical education. Of the total 818 appointments, the largest portion was dedicated to the health sector, which included 357 newly appointed X-ray technicians under the Medical and Health Services Department, whose deployment will improve the system of radiology testing in district hospitals and community health centers. Along with this, appointment letters were provided to 404 candidates under the Department of AYUSH, which include experts in homeopathic and traditional systems of medicine. With the aim of making the technical youth self-reliant, 48 qualified instructors were given charge under the Department of Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, while nine Assistant Statistical Officers (ASOs) selected under the Directorate of Industries, Kanpur for accurate compilation of industrial policy and production statistics were also included in the government service by giving appointment letters.
The Chief Minister clarified that this mega campaign of employment is not a one day event, but is a continuous administrative process. He announced that after handing over the letters to 818 youth on Saturday, the very next day i.e. on Sunday, about 1,000 other successful candidates of the state will be handed over joining letters in different departments. The Chief Minister also made public the detailed mathematics of recruitment commissions and selection boards to achieve the declared target of one lakh recruitments within the next six months:

Police and Home Guard Cadre: The selection process for more than 36 thousand civilian police and PAC posts is going on through the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, while the recruitment process for 41 to 42 thousand posts in the Home Guard Department is in the final stages. Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission: Through the newly formed Education Selection Commission, the results of 20 thousand to 25 thousand teacher and instructor posts lying vacant in primary, secondary and higher educational institutions will be released in the next three to four months and appointment letters will be distributed.

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC): Final selection for 15 thousand to 16 thousand posts will be ensured through UPPSC examinations for the top administrative and technical services of the state.
Countering the statements of opposition parties, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath revealed the details of administrative corruption before 2017. He said that during the tenure of the previous governments, as soon as the government advertisement for any recruitment was published in the newspapers, the brokers and extortion syndicates associated with power became active. In those times, by suppressing the qualifications, through nepotism and corruption, appointment letters for government posts were given to ineligible people who had never even filled the application form for the examination. Genuine and meritorious candidates kept seeing their rights being violated before their eyes and had to face lathicharge from the streets of Lucknow to the doorstep of Allahabad High Court to get justice. The Chief Minister reminded how at that time the dignity of constitutional institutions was ruined by appointing an incompetent and tainted person to the top post of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. He sarcastically said that those who are preaching purity today, the public will not leave them in a position to preach even after the 2027 elections.
The Chief Minister underlined that after assuming power in 2017, the first thing his government did was to cut the roots of corruption from the recruitment processes. As per the guidelines of the Central Government, the system of personal interview for all non-gazetted recruitments of Group-3 and Group-4 (third and fourth class) in the state was abolished forever, thereby closing the path of rigging of marks and bribery forever. Today, every step of every recruitment, from release of advertisement to online examination, answer key, physical test and distribution of final appointment letter, is reviewed in real-time by the Chief Minister’s Office. The result of this transparent system is that during the last nine and a half years, about nine and a half lakh (9,50,000) eligible youth in Uttar Pradesh have been selected in permanent government jobs without spending a single rupee and without any lobbying.
Referring to the expansion of self-employment and entrepreneurship in the private sector along with government jobs, the Chief Minister said that before the year 2017, only 120 startups were operating in a few cities in Uttar Pradesh, whereas due to the favorable industrial policies, single-window system and financial incubation of the present government, today more than 24,000 active and registered startups are working in the state. These young enterprises today are doing annual turnover of thousands of crores of rupees and generating lakhs of indirect employment. The Chief Minister also made special mention of the fourth grand edition of ‘UP International Trade Show’ (UPITS) to be held at India Expo Center and Mart, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Greater Noida) from 25 to 29 September 2026. He said that more than 650 foreign buyers from across the world and more than 2,500 domestic and global exhibitors will participate in this international fair, which will directly connect Uttar Pradesh’s ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) and industrial products with the global market.
In this historic program of Lok Bhavan, Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) of Uttar Pradesh Government, Dr. Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’, Minister of State for Medical Education, Medicine and Health Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh and Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Hansraj Vishwakarma along with Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries of the concerned departments were present. At the end of the program, candidates from ordinary rural backgrounds who received appointment letters on the stage shared their experiences and said that the non-discriminatory and completely merit-based selection system of the present government has changed their lives. Getting selected in government service just on the basis of his hard work without any recommendation or bribe is like a dream come true for him and his entire family.
