Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday brought a big developmental gift for the residents of Bilaspur, the historical town under Jewar assembly constituency of Gautam Buddha Nagar district. With the resolve to give a new life to the basic facilities of the town and to provide permanent solution to the civic problems, the foundation stone of various development works worth a total of Rs 1.50 crore was formally laid and inaugurated in various wards of Nagar Panchayat Bilaspur. During this dignified inauguration program organized on Thursday, a festive atmosphere was seen in the entire town, where local citizens and public representatives celebrated the Prime Minister’s birthday as a festival of service and development.
Regional Jewar MLA Thakur Dhirendra Singh was present as the chief guest on the occasion of formal inauguration of the development works. He laid the foundation stone of development projects worth Rs 1.50 crore by breaking the coconut and unveiling the stone slab. Addressing the public meeting, MLA Dhirendra Singh said that dedicating the gift of basic facilities to the public on the auspicious occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday is a reflection of his unwavering commitment towards the overall development of the area. He clarified that politics should not be limited to election promises only, but its basic objective should be to bring positive and visible change in the life of the person standing in the last line. Making Bilaspur Nagar Panchayat a modern, clean and well-equipped town is the top priority of the government.
Under this development package of Rs 1.5 crore, direct solutions to the long pending public problems in various residential wards of Bilaspur Nagar Panchayat will be found. Under the project, high quality cement concrete (CC) roads will be constructed on those narrow streets and major routes which were dilapidated over the years or turned into swamps due to waterlogging. Along with this, concrete drains will be constructed on the basis of scientific slope and the old drainage system will be renovated. During the rainy season, there was a risk of dampness and diseases in the houses due to water logging on the roads, now the people of the town will get permanent relief. This well-maintained drainage network will also raise the overall cleanliness index of the town.
The strengthening of infrastructure within the town will have a direct and positive impact on the daily lives of local residents. Construction of CC roads will not only make walking easier for the elderly, women and school going students, but will also make movement of two-wheelers and four-wheelers safe. Proper drainage of dirty water will effectively prevent mosquito-borne infectious diseases and make the environment of the area clean. The MLA said that when the internal roads and drainage system of a town are strong, it becomes very easy for small traders, shopkeepers and local workers to carry on economic activities.
In his address, MLA Dhirendra Singh gave complete details of the all-round development of Jewar assembly constituency. He explained in detail that the pace of development is being carried forward at a fast pace in Bilaspur town as well as in every village, Majra and urban settlements of the entire Jewar assembly constituency. Not only the work of roads and drains is being done in the area, but work is going on war footing for modernization of primary and secondary education at rural and town level, availability of better medical facilities at government health centers and providing pure drinking water to every household. He reiterated that the rays of development will not be limited only to Jewar International Airport or big industrial corridors, but every traditional town and village of the assembly constituency will be fully connected with mainstream modern development.
The MLA gave strict instructions to Nagar Panchayat officials, engineers and concerned contractors that compromise with quality and transparency in all construction works will not be tolerated at any level. It was also suggested to form a monitoring committee of local citizens for regular monitoring of the work as per the correctness and standard of the material, so that the local people themselves could monitor the works. He also called upon the citizens present to take active participation in the development works and cooperate in the maintenance of public properties by considering them as their personal property.
At the conclusion of the program, the MLA assured that this allocation of Rs 1.5 crore is only a stage of the development journey, not the destination. In the coming time, new action plans will be prepared by re-surveying the geographical and demographic needs of all the wards of Bilaspur Nagar Panchayat. Special budget will also be arranged for expansion of street lights, beautification of public parks and strengthening of community buildings. This wheel of development will continue to move until every family of Bilaspur gains the right to live in a respectable, clean and safe environment.
