YouTuber and trust operator arrested, accused of ‘setting’ in the examination by collecting huge amount from the candidates

The ongoing controversy in Jharkhand regarding government job examinations and especially the much-awaited Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination of Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) is not stopping. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) and CID, which are probing the cases of exam rigging, paper leak and setting, have achieved a major success. The investigating agencies have arrested a vicious YouTuber and a trust operator involved in this high-profile scam. It is alleged that both these accused were illegally extorting crores of rupees from innocent and hard-working candidates in the name of providing them government jobs and were running a black business of making major changes in the selection process of the examination i.e. ‘setting’. After this latest arrest, there has been a sensation in the administrative and political circles of Jharkhand, and the question has again arisen that to what extent are the strings of this racket playing with the future of the youth.

Maintaining transparency and fairness in the examinations conducted for government jobs in Jharkhand has always been a big challenge, and JSSC CGL examination is no exception to this. Since the completion of the examination, complaints were being received continuously that some organized gangs and solver gangs are active and are extorting huge amounts of money from the candidates on the pretext of passing them. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the Jharkhand government and the investigating agencies started an in-depth investigation of this entire syndicate, in which many shocking names came to light. The YouTuber and trust operator caught by the police are accused of contacting job aspirants through social media and their contacts and giving them false assurance of passing the examination citing their high influence within the system.

Initial inquiries by the investigating agencies have revealed that the arrested YouTuber and the main director of the trust was carrying out this illegal business in a very clever manner under the guise of his online activities. Misusing their reach on digital platforms and popularity among the youth, these people used to win the trust of students and then extort lakhs of rupees in the name of leaking question papers or manipulating OMR sheets. These fraudsters trapped many unemployed youth and extorted money from them, which not only deprived the rights of the eligible candidates but also raised serious questions on the credibility of the entire examination system. On the basis of technical surveillance and strong evidence, CID and SIT teams have raided the premises of these two accused and arrested them, and many digital devices and documents have also been recovered from them.

The joint action of Jharkhand CID and Police is not going to stop here, because many other big thieves, middlemen and some corrupt people associated with the government machinery are also suspected to be involved in this entire racket. The arrested YouTuber and the trust operator are being continuously interrogated to find out who is the mastermind of this syndicate and who was providing information to them behind the scenes. After this revelation, the unemployed youth and student organizations of the state have demanded a speedy trial against the culprits and the strictest punishment, so that in future no gang can muster the courage to play with the dreams of the youth. The government and investigating agencies are also working to ensure that every face involved in this corruption is exposed and brought to book.

Such big scams that surfaced in the JSSC CGL examination have once again raised deep concerns over the security arrangements of competitive examinations across the country. When lakhs of youth, who work day and night, appear for the examination on the basis of their ability, then the people who buy jobs on the basis of such money spoil their hard work. The lesson learned from this entire incident is that there is a need to make the examination system more fool-proof at the administrative level so that no middleman or YouTuber gets a chance to break into the system. The eyes of the common citizens and students of Jharkhand are now fixed on the next steps of this investigation, and everyone is hoping that the investigating agencies will reach the roots of this syndicate and turn milk into water.
