State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC/UPSRTC) has announced a great opportunity for the youth preparing for government jobs. According to the official recruitment advertisement released by the Transport Corporation, online applications have been invited from eligible candidates to fill a total of 2,500 vacant posts of Helper (Assistant) in various depots, workshops and technical centers across the state. In this recruitment drive conducted by the Transport Corporation, the selected candidates will be entrusted with the work of maintenance of buses, technical support in depots, maintenance of spare parts and helping mechanics in workshops. Talking about educational qualification, it is mandatory for the candidate to have passed 10th (Matriculation) from a recognized board or institute. Along with this, candidates holding ITI certificate in related trade (like Fitter, Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Electrician) will be given special preference in this selection process. Selected candidates will be provided with a fixed basic pay as per the pay matrix rules of the State Government along with all other government facilities including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance.
The minimum age of the candidates applying for the helper recruitment process has been fixed at 18 years and maximum age at 40 years. The age limit will be calculated on the basis of notified cut-off date. Under the prevailing service rules of the State Government, special relaxation of 3 to 5 years in the upper age limit will be provided to reserved categories like Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Ex-Servicemen. Candidates should note that the last date for filling the application form has been kept as 6th October. To avoid any kind of technical problem or server down situation, candidates have been advised to submit their application form on time without waiting for the last date.
The selection of eligible candidates for helper posts will be done by the State Road Transport Corporation through a fair and transparent process. The selection process will be completed mainly in three stages – the first stage will be written exam, in which objective type questions will be asked. The question paper will include basic questions related to General Knowledge, Arithmetic, Language and Technical Trade. Candidates who are successful in the written examination will be invited for Document Verification and Practical Skill Test in the second stage. In the final stage, after physical and medical examination, merit list will be prepared and selected candidates will be given posting in their respective depots.
