For the post of Associate Professor: PhD or Post-Doctoral Research in the relevant subject from a recognized university, 60% marks in Masters, and 3 to 5 years of teaching and research experience. Along with this, there should be minimum 8 publications or research papers.

For the post of Assistant Professor: PhD or Post-Doctoral Research degree in the concerned or relevant subject, and minimum 60% (or higher standard prescribed for some posts) marks at the Master’s degree level. Apart from this, it is mandatory to have at least 3 to 5 research publications or books. There is no mention of the mandatory UGC NET exam requirement anywhere in this entire process, which makes it different from traditional university jobs.

Since Nalanda University is an international level institution, the pay scale offered here is also very attractive and in line with global standards. The annual salary package is determined based on US dollars (USD):

For Professor post: US$ 30,000 to US$ 45,000 per year.

For Associate Professor post: US$ 20,000 to US$ 35,000 per annum.

For Assistant Professor post: US$ 15,000 to US$ 25,000 per annum.
