BJP’s mega plan for 18,900 booths in UP elections! Learning from the shock of 2024, the party created a special Chakravyuh

The excitement regarding the upcoming assembly elections is at its peak in the political circles of Uttar Pradesh and all the political parties have already started sharpening their strategies. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which faced an unexpected setback in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, has now completely come into ‘hyper-local’ mode to correct its past mistakes. The party’s internal data analysis and data mining has revealed that there are about 18,900 such polling booths in the state where the party had won a landslide victory in the 2022 assembly elections, but by the time of the 2024 parliamentary elections, they changed sides and went in favor of the opposition. To compensate for this ground loss and to regain its lost political ground, BJP has prepared a surefire and special strategy by keeping these 18,900 weak booths at the centre.

Why did BJP face a big setback in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections?

Political analysts believe that when BJP, which won a landslide majority in the 2022 assembly elections, contests the 2024 general elections, it will have to face a huge decline in terms of seats and votes in Uttar Pradesh. A recent booth-wise analysis conducted by the party shows that the decline was not limited to one entire region, but was spread across different parts of the state. Especially in many areas of Awadh and Purvanchal belt, the party had to suffer heavy losses at the booth level, due to which the overall equation got disturbed. Many traditional voters of the party got scattered in front of the web of social and caste equations woven by the opposition parties, due to which these 18,900 booths with victory margin slipped from the hands of the party and went to the opposition camp.

Strategy of special focus on rural areas and Mazhars

According to BJP’s internal survey and data mining, of the 18,900 booths where the party faced defeat in 2024, about 80 per cent of the booths come from rural areas and small mazhars (village hamlets). Dissatisfaction and local issues among rural voters had influenced the election results compared to urban areas. Keeping this fact in mind, the party has now decided to change its strategy and reach out to the rural level voters directly. Senior leaders and strategists of the party are now busy finding out what local reasons caused the rural voters to disperse and what populist and developmental issues should be raised to bring them back into the party fold.

Micromanagement and preparation of army of volunteers at booth level

To avoid any kind of lapse in the upcoming elections, BJP has adopted the formula of micro-management, under which various fronts of the party (such as youth, women, farmers, OBC and SC-ST) have been activated. According to the plan, an army of dedicated volunteers and workers is being deployed at every booth through the five fronts of the party. These workers are being selected completely keeping in mind the caste composition and local influence of the concerned booth. The top leadership itself is visiting the districts and mandals and reviewing these weak booths and giving necessary directions to the local officials so that every voter can be associated with the party before the elections.

Cut the opposition’s narrative and aim for a hat-trick of victory.

On one hand, while the opposition parties are dreaming of returning to power through their social engineering and local issues, on the other hand, BJP is reaching out to the people on the basis of government’s welfare schemes, strong law and order and development works. The party believes that if the organization’s hold on these 18,900 struggling booths is strengthened again, then a hat-trick of victory with an overwhelming majority can be achieved in Uttar Pradesh once again. This high-profile and data-driven election plan of BJP is enough to prove that the party is in no mood to be lax at any level regarding the upcoming assembly elections and is trying its best to save every single vote.
