Lucknow, 8 September. There is a wave of happiness among the state’s Anganwadi workers and assistants due to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s announcement of increase in honorarium. The workers and assistants have described it as respect for their labor and responsibilities as well as a great relief for the family.

In a program organized in Ayodhya on Tuesday, the Chief Minister announced to increase the honorarium of Anganwadi workers from Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000 and that of helpers from Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000. It was also announced to provide cashless treatment facility of up to Rs 5 lakh per year to the workers, assistants and their families. Workers in various districts of the state expressed happiness over this announcement of the government and expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister.

Important role in reaching schemes to children and women
Vidyadevi, an employee of Mirzapur’s Anganwadi center Chilah III, said that the workers have an important role in providing the benefits of government schemes to children, pregnant women and lactating mothers through Anganwadi centres. The workers perform responsibilities ranging from children’s nutrition, health and primary education to giving information about various schemes to women. Very happy with the increase in honorarium. Kranti Devi, an assistant at Anganwadi center Maladharpur I in Mirzapur, said that the announcement of increase in honorarium and provision of cashless treatment facility has increased the enthusiasm among thousands of assistants like her. Sanjita Devi, worker of Anganwadi center Amoi II, said that increasing the honorarium and getting cashless medical facilities will motivate them to perform their responsibilities in a better way.
