Eid-ul-Fitr 2024: Major mosques in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka said many Indian Muslims will fast for another day today, April 10, as the moon has not been sighted. As a result, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on April 11 in most parts of the country. But Eid is being celebrated today in Kerala.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan extended Eid greetings to the residents of the state through social media. He has posted a video on his X handle giving the message of communal harmony.
Pinarayi Vijayan said, “Eid-ul-Fitr celebrates perseverance and patience by uniting people from all walks of life. Regressive forces are spreading communal hatred leading to polarization, so let us embrace the spirit of compassion and harmony and join the celebration. Happy Eid.”
Let us tell you that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday because the moon of Islamic month Shawwal has been sighted here. Grand Mufti of the Union Territory Nasir-ul-Islam announced this on Tuesday. Eid-ul-Fitr will also be celebrated in Ladakh on Wednesday.
Clerics in Kerala confirmed the sighting of the moon on Tuesday. Subsequently, the date of Eid celebration for the state was announced by prominent clerics like Syed Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal, Jifri Muthukoya Thangal and Kanthapuram AP Abubakar Musliyar.

Former Imam of Shahi Jama Masjid Delhi, Syed Ahmed Bukhari said that the moon of Shawwal was not seen. “Eid will be celebrated on Thursday, April 11,” Bukhari announced. At the same time, Markji Chand Committee of Lucknow has confirmed to celebrate Eid on April 11 if the moon is not visible this evening.
