Praising the ongoing rescue efforts at the local level under the leadership of Balen Shah, he directed Indian agencies to coordinate directly with Nepali authorities.
Outline of ground deployment of NDRF and medical teams
Specially trained battalions of India’s National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in the border areas. These teams have modern cutters, deep-diving gears, life detectors and satellite communication systems. As soon as they get the formal green signal from the Nepal government, these teams will enter the affected areas and start the work of evacuating the people buried under the debris.
