Punjab National Bank (PNB) has brought a big opportunity for the youth looking for government jobs in the banking sector. PNB has recruited a total of 545 posts of Local Bank Officer (LBO), for which the application process is in its final stage. Post and State wise vacancy details

Through this recruitment drive, a total of 545 vacancies will be filled under Junior Management Grade Scale-1 (JMGS-I). These posts have been earmarked for various states and union territories. Talking state wise, Assam has the maximum number of 85 posts, followed by 80 in West Bengal, 78 in Karnataka, 77 in Gujarat, 67 in Maharashtra, 51 in Tamil Nadu and 41 in Telangana. Apart from this, vacancies have also been released for areas like North-Eastern states, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh. Candidates can apply for any one state only.

Educational qualification and knowledge of local language

To apply for PNB Local Bank Officer post, a candidate must have a graduation degree in any stream (Arts, Science, Commerce or equivalent) from any recognized university or institute. Along with this, it is mandatory for the candidate to have at least 1 year post-qualification work experience in Clerk or Officer cadre in a Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank (RRB). Additionally, the candidate must be fluent in speaking, writing and reading the official local language of the state for which he or she is applying.

Relaxation as per age limit and rules

The minimum age of the candidates applying for this recruitment has been fixed at 20 years and maximum age at 30 years. Age will be calculated on the basis of eligibility cut-off date. Candidates selected for the post of Local Bank Officer in PNB will be given an attractive pay scale under Junior Management Grade Scale-1 (JMGS-I). Basic pay starts from Rs 48,480 per month and goes up to Rs 85,920. Along with the basic salary, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Special Allowance, Leave Fair Concession (LFC), Medical Facility and other banking allowances will also be payable, making the total in-hand salary quite attractive.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The final selection of candidates will be done through four stages. First there will be an online written examination, followed by application screening, Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT) and then personal interview. The online written examination will be of total 150 marks, in which 150 questions will be asked and candidates will get 180 minutes time. In the examination, questions related to Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and General/Banking/Economy Awareness will be asked. The provision of negative marking will also be applicable in the examination.

While filling the application form candidates have to pay the prescribed application fee through online mode. The total application fee for General, OBC and EWS category candidates has been fixed at Rs 1180 (including GST). At the same time, only Rs 59 has been kept as intimation charge for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Disabled (PwBD) category. Fee can be paid through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI.
