Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Regarding the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has shared the latest update regarding the second phase of elections. The Election Commission has said that 1,210 candidates will contest from 13 states and union territories for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
2,633 nomination papers have been filed for 88 PCs from 12 states and Union Territories for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024.
The last date for filing nominations for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections was April 4, 2024. After verification of 2633 candidatures, 1428 candidatures have been found valid. The last date for withdrawal of candidature was 08 April 2024.
The second phase 2 has a maximum of 500 nominations from 20 parliamentary seats in Kerala. After this, 491 nominations have come from 14 seats in Karnataka. At least 14 nominations have been made from one PC in Tripura. Maximum 92 nominations were received in 16-Nanded parliamentary constituency of Maharashtra.
The Election Commission has said that elections will be held on 15 AC seats of Outer Manipur PCC on April 19 and on 13 AC seats of this PCC on April 26. 4 candidates are contesting from Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency. There are 1625 candidates contesting from 21 states/UTs for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, which includes 1491 male candidates and 134 female candidates.
