Coming to compartment in board exams can be a matter of some tension for any student, but the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has given an opportunity to improve it. CBSE has released the complete schedule and guidelines for Class 12 supplementary exams. Which students will have to give practical exam?
The board has mainly divided students into two categories for supplementary practical exam:

First category (failed only in practical): Students who have got compartment only because of not clearing the practical exam will have to appear only for the practical exam. There is no need to give the theory paper again; In theory, the numbers which they got earlier will be carried forward.

Second category (failed in both theory + practical): Students who could not pass both theory and practical will have to re-appear in theory as well as practical examination.

If you are appearing for the supplementary exam, do not miss these points:

Contact the school immediately: All students with copy of their result/mark sheet and new admit card. 27 July 2026 In any case, you will have to contact your school or exam center.

There will be no delay in results: Strict instructions have been given to the exam centers that as soon as the supplementary practical exam is over, the marks of the students will have to be uploaded on the CBSE portal on the same day.
