
In Hindu religion, Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month i.e. Devshayani Ekadashi (Harishayani Ekadashi) has special religious significance. According to mythological beliefs, from this auspicious date Lord Shri Hari Vishnu goes into Yoga Nidra for four months. With this, Chaturmas begins and all auspicious and auspicious functions like marriage, tonsure etc are stopped.

Complete Puja Samagri List
Before starting the puja, collect these necessary materials so that there is no problem at the end:

Image and clothes: Idol or picture of Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi, puja platform and yellow cloth to spread on it and yellow clothes for God.

Pooja Samagri: Yellow sandalwood, roli, akshat, turmeric, saffron, yellow marigold or lotus flowers, garland, basil leaves, incense, desi ghee lamp and wick.

Abhishek and Aachman: Gangajal, Jal Kalash, Achamani and Panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar).

Other Ingredients: Betel leaf, betel nut, clove and cardamom.

Bhog Ingredients: 5 types of seasonal fruits, yellow sweets (besan laddu or peda), Panjiri and Panchmeva.
Simple worship method of Devshayani Ekadashi

Resolve: On the day of Ekadashi, wake up in Brahma Muhurta and take bath and wear yellow clothes. After this, resolve to fast by taking water, Akshat and flowers in hand.

Installation and bath: Clean the place of worship and spread a yellow cloth on the platform. Install the idol of Shri Hari and Maa Lakshmi. Then bathe the Lord with Panchamrit and Ganga water and apply yellow clothes and yellow sandalwood.

Decoration and enjoyment: Light a desi ghee lamp and incense lamp. Offer yellow flowers, garland and Tulsi leaves to God. After this, offer Panchamrit, yellow fruits and sweets (keep in mind that Tulsi leaves must be included in the offering).

Mantra chanting and story: Invocation and Obeisance to Lord Krishna Chant the mantra 108 times. Read or listen to the fast story of Devshayani Ekadashi and if possible, recite Vishnu Sahasranama.

Aarti and sleeping: At last perform Aarti of Shri Hari and Mata Lakshmi. Since Lord Vishnu goes into Yoga Nidra from this day onwards, after the puja is over, make his idol or picture symbolically rest/sleep.
