The long wait of lakhs of residents of Greater Noida West (Noida Extension) is now over. The Public Investment Board (PIB) has given formal approval to the first phase of the Greater Noida West Metro Extension project. With the construction of this 8.4 km long metro corridor, the movement between Noida and Greater Noida West will become very smooth and fast. This joint initiative of the Central Government and the State Government is expected to provide great relief from the problem of traffic jam in the area.

5 modern metro stations will be built including Gaur Chowk (route map)

A total of 5 elevated metro stations will be built on this approved 8.4 km long metro line. The main hub of this new route will be Gaur Chowk (Char Murti), which is considered to be the busiest intersection of Greater Noida West. Major stations on the route include Sector-51 (Interchange Station), Sector-122, Sector-123, Greater Noida Sector-4 and Gaur Chowk (Sector-2). This extension line will seamlessly connect Noida Sector-51 station of Aqua Line with Noida Sector-52 station of Blue Line, providing seamless interchange facility to the passengers of Delhi-NCR.

Improvement in connectivity and impact on real estate market

The arrival of Metro will completely change the infrastructure of Greater Noida West. Currently, working people and local residents traveling to and from offices on a daily basis had to rely on autos or private vehicles, leading to heavy traffic jams during peak hours. With the start of Metro service, travel to Noida, Delhi, Ghaziabad and Gurugram will become easier. This metro extension will provide a tremendous boost to the residential and commercial real estate market in and around Gaur Chowk, Techzone 4, Sector 1 and Sector 16B and property prices are likely to rise.
