Monsoon is looking completely kind in Uttar Pradesh and heavy rains are continuing in almost all parts of the state. In view of the increasing activity of monsoon in the state, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red and orange alert of heavy rain, thunder and lightning in dozens of districts of the state for July 21 and 22. Due to the influence of the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, strong monsoon winds have become active in both the divisions of Eastern and Western Uttar Pradesh, due to which life has been greatly affected.

There is a danger of heavy rain and lightning in these districts on July 22. According to the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of very heavy rain in the southern parts of the state. Major districts where heavy rain alert has been issued include Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Banda, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Azamgarh, Varanasi and Gorakhpur. In these areas, the administration has instructed people not to go out unnecessarily and stay away from dilapidated buildings and trees.

On Monday, the maximum temperature of Lucknow came down to 6.5 degrees Celsius, which has broken the record of the last 9 years in the month of July. According to the weather headquarters at Amausi, earlier on July 5, 2019, the day temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius. There is every possibility of dark clouds throughout the day in Lucknow and surrounding areas and showers with thunder and lightning on July 22.

Monsoon will pick up pace again from July 26. Meteorologists say that after heavy rains on July 21 and 22, there may be a slight decrease in monsoon activities during July 23 to 25. No major warning has been issued during this period, although light to moderate rain will continue in some parts of the state. After this, from July 26, monsoon will once again gain momentum across Uttar Pradesh with tremendous speed.
