The Greenfield Highway will pass through 37 villages in Aligarh, providing permanent relief from traffic jams for Delhi-Agra-Kanpur commuters.

The infrastructure of Aligarh, the industrial city in the western part of Uttar Pradesh and adjacent to Delhi-NCR, is going to get a new and modern pace. To control the increasing vehicular pressure in Aligarh and provide smooth passage to interstate travelers, the Central Government has given the green signal to the construction of a huge and modern 33.38 km long Greenfield Access Controlled Ring Road (Aligarh Ring Road). An official gazette notification in this regard has been issued by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). This ambitious ring road will pass through the boundaries of a total of 37 villages of Kol and Gabhana tehsils of Aligarh district, due to which the passengers traveling between Delhi, Agra, Mathura and Kanpur will not have to enter the huge crowd of the city.

Chakravyuh will be built from Pala Sallu to Harduaganj: Know what is the route map

The proposed Aligarh Ring Road has been designed in such a way that it will provide a security ring connecting the entire city with the outskirts. This greenfield highway will start from Pala Sallu area on GT Road in Gabhana tehsil. It will then end at Harduaganj in Kol tehsil, covering the outskirts of various rural and agricultural areas. According to Sheshnath Yadav, project director of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the primary goal of this four/six lane (4/6 lane) highway is to provide a faster and alternative route to heavy commercial trucks and outbound passenger vehicles that are currently forced to pass through the busy intersections of the city.

Time and fuel will be saved between Delhi-Kanpur: the lack of bypass will be fulfilled.

At present, thousands of heavy vehicles coming from Delhi, Agra, Etah, Kanpur and Lucknow pass through the main markets and residential areas of Aligarh city, due to which there is a situation of severe traffic jam and air pollution round the clock. Although a bypass is currently operational from Bhankri to Bauner, it functions only as a half mini road. After the construction of the new 33 kilometer long ring road, no vehicle coming from Delhi will have to enter the city. They will go directly towards their destination via the highway, which will drastically reduce the travel time between Delhi to Agra and Kanpur and will also save fuel.

Aligarh Ring Road will be built on the lands of these 37 villages

The villages whose land is being acquired under Section 3 of the Central National Highway Act 1956 include major revenue areas of Gabhana and Kol tehsils. The official list of affected villages is as follows:

Pala Sallu, Korah Rustampur, Koil, Sangaur, Girdharpur, Khedia Haiwat Khan, Kalua, Daudpur Kota, Summerpur, Samastpur Kota, Amrauli, Kastri Vaishya, Pala Majra Kastri Vaishya, Chandokha, Chherat Sudiyal, Saatha, Kherupura, Sapera Bhanpur, Kidhara, Jatpura, Barauth, Morthal, Mohanpur, Nayabans Narendragarhi, Azamabad Machhua, Sikandarpur Machhua, Khan Alampur, Imlani, May, Mahmoodpur Jamalpur, Changeri, Bhojpur, Alhadadpur, Panaiti, Adaun, Jalupur Sihore, Barautha and Harduaganj.

Administration bans purchase, sale and deed of land in affected villages

As soon as the notification for land acquisition was issued by the Ministry’s Director Sheikh Amin Khan, the district administration has become fully prepared. Special Land Acquisition Officer Atul Gupta said that strict instructions have been issued to all the concerned SDMs, Tehsildars, Sub-Registrar and AIG Stamp of Kol and Gabhana tehsils. Now in these 37 affected villages, revenue activities like any kind of change of land use (CLU), land registry, deed of deed, mutation, new colony development or keeping the land mortgaged in the bank have been completely banned. In any emergency situation, it will be legally mandatory to obtain written No Objection Certificate (NOC) from NHAI before carrying out land revenue work, so that the compensation distribution process can be made transparent and any kind of legal dispute can be avoided.
