Parliament Monsoon Session 2026: Before the monsoon session of Parliament, a big meeting at Rajnath Singh’s house today, all-party meeting on July 19; Opposition will surround ‘NEET and Operation Sindoor’

The country’s political excitement has reached its peak regarding the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament starting from July 20, 2026. In view of the tough attitude of the opposition, the central government has started working with full force in finalizing its legislative strategy. The big news quoting sources is that a very important and high-level meeting of senior Union ministers is going to be held on Wednesday (15 July 2026) at the official residence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. The main objective of this meeting is to strongly advance the legislative agenda of the government during the monsoon session and to prepare a foolproof strategy to deal with the sharp attacks and possible issues of the opposition.

All party meeting on 19th July, bugle of session will sound from 20th July

This important monsoon session of Parliament will start from 20th July and continue till 13th August 2026. Just a day before the formal start of the session, i.e. on July 19, the Central Government has also invited an all-party meeting as per tradition. In this meeting, the government will present the list of all its proposed legislative programs and bills to other parties, while the opposition parties will outline their demands for discussion on public interest, national security and political issues. According to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, in this session, detailed debates and important legislative work will be completed on many topics of national importance.

In this monsoon session, Modi government is preparing to table many historical and important bills in Parliament. Among these, it remains the center of most discussion and political debate –Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill.

• What is the provision: A strict provision has been included in this proposed law that if in serious criminal cases the Prime Minister (PM), the Chief Minister (CM) of any state or the Central and State Ministers have to remain in judicial custody for 30 days or more, then their post will automatically end.

• JPC report ready: The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), which is closely examining this very sensitive bill, may approve its final report on July 17, after which it will be presented in Parliament.

Maze to corner the government on ‘NEET Paper Leak’ and ‘Operation Sindoor’

On the other hand, the opposition has also prepared its own strategy to push the government on the back foot. This time the entire opposition including Congress is in the mood to create a huge ruckus in the Parliament mainly on these three big issues:

1. NEET-UG paper leak case: The opposition will demand direct accountability from the government on this issue related to the future of millions of students of the country.

2. Operation Sindoor: There is a possibility of huge uproar over the old statements given by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh regarding this sensitive military operation.

3. Notice of breach of privilege: The Congress Party has already given a notice of Breach of Privilege in the Parliament against the Defense Minister, due to which it is certain that there will be a heated argument in the House.

It is certain that this session starting from July 20 is going to be very noisy, on one hand the government will want to pass major reformist laws, while on the other hand the opposition will leave no stone unturned to corner the government on national issues.
